Amrita is an Infectious Diseases Advanced Trainee with an interest in global health, health equity and strengthening health systems to improve outcomes for patients and communities. She has taken the scenic route, slowly completing her medical degree, a philosophy degree, a Masters in public health and diploma of tropical medicine and hygiene, interspersed with time studying, living and working overseas. Amrita has spent the last two years working in global health with Medecins sans Frontieres and the Burnet Institute, working in multidrug-resistant Tuberculosis programs in settings such as Swaziland, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and Papua New Guinea.
