Susannah Ward is a Physician of Rehabilitation Medicine currently working at Belmont Hospital in Newcastle, New South Wales, Australia. She completed her training in 2018 with the Basmajian Prize for the Fellowship Clinical Exams. She completed her MBBS (hons) and B.Med Sci (hons) at The University of Sydney.
As a strong advocate for trainee health and wellbeing Susannah was engaged in governance throughout her training. She served as a Board director to The Royal Australasian College of Physicians from 2016-2018 and was a member of the Faculty and College trainee committees from 2014-2018.
Susannah has a special interest in 'wellness', mindfulness and yoga and teaches these skills to health professionals during intern orientations, weekly staff workshops and conferences. She has been involved in research looking into intern wellness and wellbeing including a project awarded an Advancement in medicine grant. On the side, Susannah enjoys medical writing, teaching yoga and running wellness events with Ataraxia Collective (www.ataraxiacollective.com.au @axcollective).
